Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or a frypan over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, toss the finely sliced scotch steak with salt and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Place the sliced onion, capsicum, mushrooms, and minced garlic on the grill or frypan. Cook until charred and fragrant, reminiscent of the aroma found at Bunnings.
  4. Push the grilled vegetables to one side of the grill or frypan. Add the seasoned steak slices, allowing them to cook without moving too much to achieve charred bits.
  5. Meanwhile, butter the slit baguette sections and place them face down on the grill or frypan to warm and slightly soften.
  6. Once the steak is cooked to your liking, assemble the sandwiches: layer portions of steak and grilled vegetables on the hot plate, top with mozzarella and provolone cheese slices, and cover with the buttered baguette sections.
  7. Allow the sandwiches to cook until the cheese melts and starts to drip down through the filling.
  8. Swiftly scoop up each sandwich, being careful not to overthink, and press the filling together gently with a spatula or butter knife.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

TIPS N TRICKS

For extra flavor, marinate the steak slices in your favorite marinade before grilling.

Don't rush the cooking process; allowing the steak to develop charred bits adds depth to the sandwich.

Feel free to customize the sandwich with your favorite toppings or condiments, such as barbecue sauce or caramelized onions.
