I am having a little bit of trouble staying on track when it comes to being GF, and this is one of the reasons. Careme Pastry has long been my go-to play dough. It’s thick. It smells divine. It’s rolled and rectangular. Yes, it costs more… but if you are going to consider pie making the short (cut) way, and you don’t want to make short (crust) or sell yourself short (quality), then you must begin here.
Light My Fire lip & a Lady Bug nail
If I were packing a bag, these two would get thrown in first. I rely on a professional to polish my claws—the new ladybug shade is my fave. The lip and ONLY lip I apply above a tinted balm is NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Light My Fire. Everything else is wrong for me, and I can go from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in one coat unless I am licking fried chicken.
Pressure cooker. Me: I dislike appliances. Also, me: This appliance is so goddamn incredible. I like to delegate; I don’t like to be disarmed. Sure, I might get a machine to grate a ton of ingredients, but chopping and stirring are mostly my meditation, that and a support pillar of G&T.
Also, aside from the speed, the pressure does something so tenderising to stuff that you are no more than 50 minutes or so from fall-apart patheticness when it comes to stewing.
